Does Roll20 Subscription Let Me Upload Bigger Image Files

This post has been airtight. You tin still view previous posts, but you can't postal service whatever new replies.

I definitely sympathise the limitations to file size. However, it's quite hard to provide a loftier quality world map that I've drawn every bit i of my pages with a limit of 5mb. I'd like to be able to accept at least one of my pages have a file size limit increment. Either for purchase, or whatever.

You tin can always break information technology into smaller images and composite it in the map editor. Remember that most people accept 72-90dpi screens then even uncompressed a 5MB PNG compressed at a low ratio estimate of 10:1 is nevertheless a 16.5"x16.5" epitome on a 90dpi screen.

Truthful. I'g using hexographer to draw the world map. I was just thinking it would be squeamish to be able to export equally a PNG from there and transfer it over here when I'thou done. However, tweaking it enough to become information technology under 5mb gives me a adequately small version of information technology. I could make due with a 10-12mb version. The 5mb version just can't exist stretched very far without affecting the resolution poorly.

Clinton, Two things: 1) I think that Eric is suggesting that you tin can basically take the exported map from Hexographer, then "cutting it upward" into iv smaller images (without really reducing the resolution). And so you can upload each of those 4 smaller images individually, and put them right next to each other on the map layer in Roll20. Your players will never realize it'south actually four dissever images. The other advantage of doing this for large maps besides the size limitation is that the rendering engine will work faster considering information technology can ignore the pieces of the map that aren't on-screen. two) We are looking into increasing the per-file upload restriction for Mentors. Then stay tuned for that too!

Truthful. I understand. Sadly, I was overzealous and my map ended up being then large that I take to cut information technology into about 9 pieces in order to get each one small enough to be able to upload them. That'southward my fault. haha. I'm in the mentor level, so information technology you lot're increasing the per-file restriction, that'd be great. haha.

Wow! That is a very large map! You might also try JPG if y'all don't heed a piffling loss in quality, depending on what'southward on the map the pinch may save y'all quite a bit of size. And nosotros're definitely looking into it, merely making sure information technology doesn't crash the servers or anything :-)

haha. Aye, as I said, I might have been a bit overzealous. I will try swapping it over to JPG and run into what happens. I'll still have to cut it into pieces, but it might be easier to exercise. Currently, I'm having save each piece from the map from hexographer and then stretch them to attempt to make them fit. It isn't working quite likewise as I wanted.
